Reports To: Children's Ministry Coordinator                Status: Part-Time (15 hrs/week)

 Kid's @ First exists to partner with families in leading children to know Jesus, become lifelong followers of Him, build lasting friendships, and discover that following Christ is the greatest adventure of all. 

We provide safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environments where children experience the love of Jesus through Sunday mornings, Huddle @ First, camps, and outreach events.

 Position Summary 

The Ministry Assistant partners with the Children's Ministry Coordinator to support weekly programming, outreach events, volunteers, administrative responsibilities, and ministry preparation while helping carry out the vision of Kid's @ First.

Primary Responsibilities

 Sunday Mornings: Prepare classrooms, assist with Sunday School and Children's Church, welcome families, check-in/out, support volunteers.

 Wednesday – Huddle @ First: Setup, games, worship, Bible lesson, small groups, cleanup. 

Outreach Events: Support Summer Pursuit, Champs Camp, Skate Nights, Open Gym, Movie Nights, Spring Break, Trunk or Treat, Pre-Teen events, and other outreach opportunities. 

Administrative: Curriculum prep, crafts, organization, communication, inventory, volunteer support. 

Qualifications

Required: Growing relationship with Christ, agreement with First Baptist Church's mission, servant heart, strong communication and organization, background check and child safety training. 

Preferred: Children's ministry, education, childcare or camp experience; event planning; Canva/social media skills; ministry or education coursework. 

Hours & Compensation

 Average of 15 hours/week. Required availability includes Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, Spring Break programming, monthly outreach events, Summer Pursuit, Champs Camp, Trunk or Treat, and other scheduled ministry events. Flexible office hours are coordinated with the Children's Ministry Coordinator. Outreach events are planned around team availability whenever possible. Hourly pay based on experience and qualifications.
