FBC Brownwood: Express our Faith, Experience Belonging, Embrace our Call.

From the Pastor

Dear church family,

As I see pictures of our anniversary weekend and reflect on the history of our church, I continue to relish the time spent together at the 150th Anniversary Celebration and to marvel at the dedication of those who have gone before us.  I think about the national crises they endured in the past 150 years.  The congregation persevered through two world wars, numerous other conflicts, cultural upheaval, times of financial uncertainty which included the great depression, and the threat associated with major and minor pandemics.  On a more personal level, members experienced illnesses, tragedy, loss, disappointment, difficulty, and times of disagreement; yet, through the years and whatever they encountered, they remained faithful to the Lord and sacrificially committed to His church.  We are blessed by their foresight and indebted to them for their service.

As we participate in the time God has entrusted to us, let us continue to do our part and move forward in faith for the glory of God and the good of His church.  Our Rise & Build committee met this morning to discuss more detailed plans for the new construction.  The survey and geotechnical investigation has begun (see pictures), and future steps are being planned.  Please, continue to be in prayer for these decisions and the recommendations to be made.

I am grateful for the way God has worked in the past, for the way God continues to work, and that God has led us all here to do His work together in FBC, Brownwood.

In Christ,

Jerry

Adopt A Camper

Adopt A Camper

Help Send Students to Camp

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for you to help send a child to camp through our Adopt a Camper Sponsor Program!

You can sponsor a camper in three ways:

  • Full Camper – $225
  • Half Camper – $112.50
  • Quarter Camper – $56.25

When you choose to sponsor, you’ll pick a “kiddo” from our board to support. Before camp, you’ll receive the child's week long prayer requests to begin praying over your camper. During camp, you’ll continue to receive updates and specific prayer needs, and you’ll even get a photo of your camper while they’re at camp!

This is more than just giving—it’s investing in a child’s faith journey.

Stop by the display (in the children's wing)  and Adopt a Camper today!

We have been asked if we can have 10 people sign up to pray for athletes and their families on the field during the opening ceremonies. Each athlete family will have a specific person who will pray over them and give them a prayer rock for them to keep.

Prayer partners are asked to be at the Brownwood High School baseball/softball fields at 5:30pm that evening.

If you would be interested in being part of this prayer rock ceremony,  you can sign up through the church office or contact the office for more details.
