FBC Brownwood: Express our Faith, Experience Belonging, Embrace our Call.

From the Pastor

Dear church family,

As another school year comes to an end, we rejoice with those who are graduating and for those who will receive a break from teaching or attending classes.  The summer break is needed and well deserved.

Kay has thoroughly enjoyed her first year in the education department at Howard Payne.  Caleb has completed his first year of graduate school at Baylor, has worked as a graduate assistant, and will work on various projects throughout the summer.  Next fall, he plans to continue his studies at Baylor, teaching classes as a “teacher of record” in the film and digital media department.  Clayton has finished his junior year at Abilene Christian, will take a summer class through HPU, and work two basketball camps at ACU & one at Texas Tech in June.  He has plans in the fall to take 18 hours of classes, complete 50 hours of observation, and continue to work as manager for the men’s basketball team before completing student teaching in the spring so he can graduate in May 2027.

For now, the boys are done with school.  Kay finishes this week; and after HPU graduation, we plan to head out for a family vacation together.  We treasure time together and are grateful to you for the opportunity to get away, get some rest, see some beautiful places, and experience new things.

In my absence, Zac and Keith will fill in the pulpit the next two Sundays.  Keith and Damon will cover the Wednesday evenings; and, our staff remains available if any need should arise.  I am grateful for these partners in ministry and for this opportunity for you to hear from them and the messages God has laid on their hearts.  We are grateful to be serving with you and look forward to being back home soon.

In Christ,
Jerry

Adopt A Camper

Adopt A Camper

Help Send Students to Camp

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for you to help send a child to camp through our Adopt a Camper Sponsor Program!

You can sponsor a camper in three ways:

  • Full Camper – $225
  • Half Camper – $112.50
  • Quarter Camper – $56.25

When you choose to sponsor, you’ll pick a “kiddo” from our board to support. Before camp, you’ll receive the child's week long prayer requests to begin praying over your camper. During camp, you’ll continue to receive updates and specific prayer needs, and you’ll even get a photo of your camper while they’re at camp!

This is more than just giving—it’s investing in a child’s faith journey.

Stop by the display (in the children's wing)  and Adopt a Camper today!

FCA All Star Baseball Game Needs People to Pray at the Game

FCA All Star Baseball Game Needs People to Pray at the Game

On June 4th, our area FCA will host their annual FCA All Star Games. Brownwood will be the site for baseball and softball this year.

We have been asked if we can have 10 people sign up to pray for athletes and their families on the field during the opening ceremonies. Each athlete family will have a specific person who will pray over them and give them a prayer rock for them to keep.

Prayer partners are asked to be at the Brownwood High School baseball/softball fields at 5:30pm that evening.

If you would be interested in being part of this prayer rock ceremony,  you can sign up through the church office or contact the office for more details.
