FBC Brownwood: Express our Faith, Experience Belonging, Embrace our Call.

From the Pastor

Dear church family,
I would like to thank Jon, Brian, Diane, Michelle, Stephen, and the choir who led our music during our joint worship service with First Methodist Church and Union Presbyterian Church, and our Fellowship & Activities Team for hosting the cobbler and ice cream fellowship that followed. The choir was amazing. The musicians are so talented. The music was beautiful and inspiring; and, the fellowship together was a glimpse of the fulfillment of God’s kingdom.
We have two other upcoming opportunities to join together as our congregations celebrate 150 years of ministry. On the evening of August 16th, we will follow the same schedule at First Methodist Church with choir at 5pm and worship at 6pm. On the evening of September 13th, we will follow the same schedule at Union Presbyterian Church. I hope you will plan to join with us.
Please continue to pray for our Pre-teen and Youth campers as they have all returned safely from their summer camps. Pray for those who have made decisions to follow Jesus, for those who are growing in following Jesus, and for those who have yet to respond to His call.

Please continue to pray for our first responders, particularly as they are out serving in the summer heat. Tomorrow evening we plan to host a small group from the fire department for an appreciation meal. Please pray for this ministry as we connect with, love on, and extend encouragement to them in the name of Jesus.

Please continue to pray for Keith & his family during his sabbatical.

Later this month, on Sunday evening, June 28 th from 6-8pm, Kay and I would like to host you at our home for our annual Picnic at the Pastor’s house. Come and enjoy Underwood’s BBQ sandwiches with all the fixin’s, ice cream, and a casual time of fellowship together. We are grateful to be serving the Lord together.

In Christ,
Jerry

Songs For Sunday

If you want to be familiar with the songs we sing on Sunday morning, there are a few ways to do that. Below is a list of the songs we will be singing this coming Sunday. Listen to the words this week as we prepare our hearts for the next time we meet and worship God together.

The committee for the building project wanted to update everyone on where we currently stand for donations given.

So far we have pledges for: $1,498,474 out of an estimated $1,800,000 goal.

We have received $476,545.31  of those pledges and gifts so far.

If you have made a pledge to give periodically, we encourage you to make every effort to keep that pledge. Work with us in the office if anything in your pledge needs to change or if you are unsure how to make any contributions.
