FBC Brownwood: Express our Faith, Experience Belonging, Embrace our Call.

From the Pastor

Dear church family,

Please continue to pray for our campers and sponsors this week through a busy and hot week of Pre-teen Camp.  Pray for their protection from the heat, things that sting, and anything else that might pose a threat.  Pray for their hearts to be open to the gospel and the transforming grace of God.  Pray for growth in living their faith in relationship to both God and others.  Our pre-teen campers are at Heart of Texas Baptist Camp and Conference Center and will be returning tomorrow.

Our youth will be leaving for camp on Friday to attend Camp Collide at Latham Springs Camp and Retreat Center before returning the following Tuesday.  Pray for our youth and sponsors, particular those sponsors who will go almost directly from Pre-teen Camp to Youth Camp.  Pray for stamina, patience, and wisdom as they minister to our youth.  For our youth, pray for protection and that the burdens and distractions of life can be set aside so that they might hear from the One who made them, loves them, and has a great plan for them.

This Sunday evening, we will be hosting the members of First Methodist and Union Presbyterian for the first of three joint worship services in honor of each of our congregation’s 150 years of ministry in Brown County.  A combined choir will rehearse at 5pm and worship will follow at 6pm.  Following worship, we will host our guests for ice cream & cobbler in the fellowship hall.  We have the cobbler and will get store bought ice cream; but, if anyone wants to bring some homemade ice cream, it would not be turned away.  Please join us as we gather with fellow believers for a time of celebration, fellowship, encouragement, and unity in Christ.

In Christ,

Jerry

Songs For Sunday

If you want to be familiar with the songs we sing on Sunday morning, there are a few ways to do that. Below is a list of the songs we will be singing this coming Sunday. Listen to the words this week as we prepare our hearts for the next time we meet and worship God together.

I Will Call Upon the Lord

Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing

O Worship The King

Speak, O Lord

Create in Me A Clean Heart

If My People Will Pray

Trust and Obey

The committee for the building project wanted to update everyone on where we currently stand for donations given.

So far we have pledges for: $1,491,649 out of an estimated $1,800,000 goal.

We have received $471,312.01  of those pledges and gifts so far.

If you have made a pledge to give periodically, we encourage you to make every effort to keep that pledge. Work with us in the office if anything in your pledge needs to change or if you are unsure how to make any contributions.
